The new session in 2021 signals the reopening of schools after a whole year of online studies. While the reopening of schools has elicited a mixed reaction from parents, students and teachers, it provides a ray of hope that things will return to normalcy gradually. The reopening of schools brought with it a new normal this year with smaller class sizes, and unwavering adherence to safety protocols. Proper and constant use of masks and face coverings, personal hygiene, regular washing of hands and following the distancing norms was the part of the daily routine to check further spread of COVID-19. We needed to consider a number of things before welcoming back the students to the premises. Of the many challenges for the schools, the most critical ones were:
a. to ensure that students get the right guidance and psychological support, since they would be coming back to school after a year-long break and would have developed habits that go with online learning like anytime learning, access to pre-made notes and ready reckoners, more stress on objective type questions, etc.
b. to sanitize and disinfect each and every area of the school on a daily basis; or even twice if the school operates on shift- basis.
c. to arrange safe and sanitized transportation for the students
d. to make infrastructural changes to accommodate the students while maintaining physical distancing guidelines.
e. to simultaneously stream the lessons online, especially for classes with huge numbers or with students whose parents do not consent to send their wards to schools yet.
f. to split the classes into smaller groups and operate in shifts if possible. Lesser time spent in school would also mean that the children need not carry lunch or refreshments, thereby avoiding sharing of food among students.
g. to keep a tab on students and make them follow distancing norms even during breaks or in-between the classes, and also while travelling to and from the school.
In spite of all the challenges, schools, students and parents were eagerly looking forward to reopening of schools, and were hopeful that the new session would commence with a new ray of hope and a new normal, which would lead the way to a brighter future and a stronger world.
The new academic session started in a full-fledged manner and we undertook measures to make up for the learning gap of two years.
In this academic session the school has primarily been working in an online mode for junior classes in accordance with the Government regulations while the school reopened physically for seniors maintaining all protocols.
Care was also taken to ensure that staffs were vaccinated well in advance to provide safe and secure environment .Once the students got back into the daily routine of regular classes, students of grade IX and X were vaccinated with both the doses.
As predicted that the year 2021 and beyond will see more of a mix of online and offline learning – popularly known as Blended Learning. Blended learning is a combination of both forms of instruction where students interact with the teacher, the material, and other students through both a physical classroom and an online platform. The resources and infrastructure for the same have mostly been developed during the pandemic, and are projected to set the path for a more inclusive, more interesting, more personalized and far reaching educational programme.
All official documentation is done through Google drive with an extensive use of real time sharing by Google Sheet, Google Docs and Google Forms to maintain the safety and security. Teachers submit well-organised lesson plans monthly which are collected by the HODs in subject wise folders and uploaded in the Google Drive. Daily reports of the class and strength of the students are uploaded in the Google Sheets. All the records are submitted to HODs for verification which are further cross checked by the Co-ordinators and exam cell and then sent to the Principal via Academic-In charge.M/p>

We are very grateful for all the help we received from parents. Parents controlled the environment. They supported setting the pace, building a physical space intended for learning, and continued to encourage when there was no daily face-to- face interaction. They supported us full fledgedly when we shifted from online to offline mode. Their co -operation and faith on the institution remained intact that boosted us to work with positivity.
